A List of Common Questions

As a family-run farm, we offer a beautiful venue for any wedding, holiday party or event. Whether you need a space for a corporate event, family reunion, or wedding reception, come plan your event with us at The Raymond Family Farm!


  • How do I secure a date? Dates are only secured with a formal agreement and payment of a deposit. Dates are NOT held via email or lead forms.


  • How many functions are held on the farm a day? We host only one function per day. Guests enjoy exclusive access to the property for their event.


  • Do you allow rehearsals? Unfortunately we cannot accommodate rehearsals, rentals are for the day of event. We are often booked Thursday through Sunday. 


  • What is your capacity? We are limited to 200 guests in the barn but recommend a cap of 180 to better enjoy the space. For the full venue, including grounds, the property can hold 400.


  • Do you have limitations in terms of hours? Yes, although this is a 50+ acre working farm we are still considered to be zoned residential. Per our approval with the New Hartford Planning and Zoning Committee we must conclude all functions by 10 PM.


  • Do you require renters to obtain insurance? Yes, in the agreement we provide details in terms of naming additional insureds and the amounts of liability protection required.


  • Do you have a kitchen? No, unfortunately due to code limitations and the age of this beautiful barn it was not possible. All food is provided by outside catering. Please see the Food and Beverage tab where we highlight some of our preferred caterers. You are free to use alternative caterers however a modest fee may apply. Looking to do something different, on a tight budget, perhaps a BBQ or Food Truck, not holding a wedding or looking for a more modest menu, no problem we welcome alternatives.


  • Can we serve our own alcohol? NO, this is strictly forbidden. Can we bring in alcohol to be served by your approved Bar service? Yes, for your protection and ours, all alcohol must be served by licensed and insured providers. Just like food, we can customize your beverage service to meet your needs and budget.


  • Can we have a live band? Yes, however our current zoning approvals limit amplified sound to the interior of the barn only and all amplified sound must discontinue by 10 PM.


  • Is the Raymond Family Farm open to the public? The approval we were granted from the Town of New Hartford Zoning does not permit us to be "Open to the Public". All guests must be invited, scheduled, ticketed or in some manner clearly identified as part of a particular function or event.


  • Do you have heat or air conditioning? Yes! we are fully climate controlled and available for year round use. We do enjoy gentle breezes up here on the hill but it can be hot in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter so we encourage guests to plan accordingly depending on the season.


  • Do you have restrooms or must guests rent portable restrooms or a trailer? YES!! the restrooms are complete.


  • If we want to hold our ceremony on the property is there an additional fee? No, weddings are a priority here at the farm and want to do everything we can to keep it affordable, simple and straightforward. In addition to hay, love grows everywhere at the Raymond Family Farm.


  • Do you have a private bridal suite? Yes, we have a lovely, private bridal suite that is included in rentals at no additional charge.


  • Do you have a sound system and microphones? Yes, the house system is fantastic and if it is to offer a toast or simply play your favorite music you will not be disappointed.


  • Do you offer Planning or Day of Coordinator Services? We are very pleased to announce Tracey Rich has joined the Raymond Family Farm team. Tracey is an experienced and qualified event planner and we proudly offer these services to our clients looking for a little or a whole lot of help making their special event perfect.   • Do you offer payment plans? Can you accept Credit Cards? Yes and Yes. Clients may make payments prior to the scheduled event. While we prefer payments by check we do accept most major credit cards.


  • Do you offer tours? All the time, email us to schedule.
